Part of being a Christ follower is being part of a community. At Evangel we provide this community through Life Groups. We believe sustained life change happens best in the context of community. In life groups, people study God’s Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It’s also where they pray, care for one another, and are missed if they don’t show up. In addition to our Life Groups, we have multiple services and ministries that meet on Sundays and Wednesdays that create a larger sense of community and provides a launching point for connecting to each other through service. For more information on our services click here.
Connecting to Each Other through Service
In today’s age it is vitally important that the Church answer the needs of the many hurting, hungry, and impoverished at home and abroad. We partner with several ministries throughout the year to meet those needs. We can’t solve all of the world’s problems, but we can do our part to share the love of Christ with those who need it most. The following are several ministries we have partnered with and continue to support with our time and money. We invite you to join with us.
Montgomery Area Food Bank: Led by volunteers, we partner with the Montgomery Area Food Bank and provide food and other needs once a month to those who need it most. Many people in our area don’t have have enough food to make it to their next paycheck and we strive to provide as much food as possible to them according to their families needs. MAPS Trips: Even though Americans may travel to several different countries in their lifetimes they may never see the real side of the country. We provide unique opportunities to see the “other side” of a country, the side tourists rarely ever see. Volunteers sacrifice their vacation time and travel to countries all over the world providing needs as diverse as building churches, digging wells, providing basic medical care, and disaster relief. This year Evangel will travel to Argentina and to South Africa.
Stella’s Voice: One of the great tragedies of our time is sex trafficking. Stella’s Voice, mainly ministering in Romania and Muldova, strives to give homes, education, and employment to many orphans doomed to modern day slavery. Evangel partners with Stella’s voice periodically to provide the essentials to these that have lost hope but may find it again in Christ. Most recently, our members provided Christmas presents to these orphans who may otherwise may not have received anything.
